Welcome to Sacha Lodge, where the jungle and luxury come together to provide you with an unforgettable experience.
Departure from Quito airport is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. (subject to change). A 30-minute flight over the Andes Mountains takes you to a bustling oil town called Coca, located in the Amazon basin. After a quick lunch at Sacha's private home, you will head to the town docks where you will board Sacha's private canoes for a 2-hour trip downriver to Sacha's Lodges property. A 30-minute walk through the rainforest will take you to Lake Pilchicocha. At this point, native workers will welcome you to paddle across the lake to your final destination. Arrival at Sacha Lodge is estimated at around 3:30 or 4:00 p.m. (subject to change).
Imagine crossing the jungle via a 30-meter (94-foot) high bridge above the treetops. At 275 meters (940 feet) long and anchored to the ground by three metal towers, it offers an amazing opportunity to discover dozens of animals and epiphytes rarely seen from the ground. You can even spot troops of monkeys through the forest canopy. And if you don't see them, you'll almost certainly hear them. Howler monkeys will roar through the sunset like true kings of the jungle.
You'll feel like you're on top of the world in our 135-foot (43-meter) observation tower. A platform built in the highest branches of a giant Ceibo tree. From here, you can enjoy a magnificent panoramic view of the forest. The more than 500 species of birds recorded in the area, including toucans and rainbow-colored parrots, become easy to spot. Climb up to the crows' nest to experience a 360-degree view, like the captain of the Amazon.
