ITINERARY

The city of Cuenca was recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site for its beauty and historical and cultural importance. At the appointed time, we will begin our full-day tour of the city of Cuenca, which includes places such as the picturesque and traditional Barrio de San Sebastián, the Museum of Modern Art, Calderón Park (central park), La Plaza de las Flores, La Catedral del Sagrario (Old Cathedral), and La Catedral Inmaculada Concepción (New Cathedral), considered the largest in Latin America. Also included is a visit to a famous toquilla straw hat factory, where you will learn about the making of the finest hats and the history behind this iconic product of the country. Afterwards, we will enjoy a lunch of local cuisine. After lunch, we will continue the tour to discover the charm of El Barranco, a green corridor along the Tomebamba River, where architecture meets the natural environment. We will visit the Pumapungo Museum. Finally, we will arrive at the "Mirador de Turi" viewpoint, where the landscape of a valley full of red roofs and blue domes is framed by imposing mountains. On the way, we will visit the Casa-Taller de Cerámica (Ceramics Workshop) of Eduardo Vega, a famous ceramist from Cuenca. Return to the hotel.

IMPORTANT: The full-day city tour starts at 9:00 a.m. It is not recommended to take this tour on Sundays because most establishments are closed and there is little activity.
