We will visit the Plaza de Administración, where the neoclassical City Hall is located, and continue on to the Moorish-style Clock Tower to explore the Simón Bolívar boardwalk, a 3 km promenade with beautiful views of the Guayas River, the result of an urban regeneration project that began in 1997.
At the La Rotonda monument, we will learn about the liberation processes in South America led by Simón Bolívar and José de San Martín. Then, we will head to the historic Las Peñas neighborhood, known for its beautiful wooden houses. From Santa Ana Hill, we will enjoy a panoramic view of the city, the Guayas River, and the green belt of mangroves.
After this enriching visit, we will head to the city of Cuenca, with a stop at Cajas National Park, where we will take a short walk to enjoy its beautiful lake complex, consisting of approximately 240 lagoons surrounded by unique Andean páramo vegetation.
The 200 km journey between the two cities will take us along a scenic highway. Upon arrival in Cuenca, you will have the opportunity to explore the old town, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. The hotels are located near bars and restaurants, where you can enjoy the vibrant culinary scene led by Cuenca chefs who are at the forefront of cutting-edge culinary movements nationwide.
We will start the day with a delicious breakfast at the hotel and then set out to discover the beautiful city of Cuenca, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1999. We will take a tour of the city's most emblematic sites, such as the picturesque and traditional Barrio de San Sebastián, the Museum of Modern Art, Calderón Park (central park), La Plaza de las Flores, La Catedral del Sagrario (Old Cathedral), and La Catedral Inmaculada Concepción (New Cathedral), considered the largest in Latin America. The tour will end with a visit to a "toquilla straw hat" factory, where we can learn about the production of the finest hats.
After lunch, we will explore the majesty and charm of the Barranco neighborhood, where architecture blends with the natural environment. Cuenca, founded by the Spanish under the name Santa Ana de los Cuatro Ríos de Cuenca, considers these rivers a fundamental part of its heritage. We will walk along the Tomebamba River to admire the vegetation and the city built on its banks. Then, we will visit the Mirador de Turi to admire this valley of red roofs and blue domes, framed by imposing mountains. On the way, we will visit the house-workshop of Eduardo Vega, a famous ceramist from Cuenca. We will conclude the visit at the Museo de las Conceptas, a former monastery dating back to 1561. After this tour, passengers will return to the hotel and continue enjoying this beautiful city.

We will continue by visiting two of the most representative churches of the Quito school: La Compañía de Jesús, known for its impressive gold-covered nave, and the church of San Francisco, where we can visit the temple, its impressive convent, and the museum of religious art.
Then, we will continue the tour on foot through several neighborhoods and areas of the historic center that still preserve traditional aspects of daily life in Quito, such as the Carmen Bajo convent, the Queen's Arch, the City Museum, La Ronda Street, the Church of Santo Domingo, Junín Street, and the San Marcos neighborhood, ending at Espejo Street. Throughout this tour, you will have the opportunity to discover a surprising system of trade in local handicrafts and other more unusual products.
At the end of the afternoon, you will return to the hotel to rest and enjoy your stay in Quito.
The city of Quito is located in a stunning setting, surrounded by the eastern and western ranges of the Andes. In the western range stands the Pichincha massif, which includes notable hills and volcanoes such as Rucu and Guagua Pichincha. Rucu Pichincha, whose name in Quechua means "old," is an inactive volcano whose activity ceased in the Pleistocene. On the other hand, the Guagua Pichincha volcano, which means "young" in Quechua, is located 12 km from the city, with an altitude of 4,776 meters above sea level. This volcano is shaped like a horseshoe open to the west and was active in 1999 and 2001.
Our excursion will take us to the cable car, where we will ascend in an aerial cabin to the Cruz Loma station, located 4,000 meters above sea level. From here, we will enjoy spectacular views of the city, its complex and rich topography, and its location close to the equator, which will allow us to understand its growth and expansion processes.
After this visit, we will head to Mitad del Mundo, located 22 km north of the city of Quito, where the equator is located. This location, determined in the 18th century by the French Geodetic Mission in collaboration with Spanish and Ecuadorian geographers, offers the opportunity to have lunch and explore a museum complex. This visit is both educational and entertaining, as you will be able to experience being in both hemispheres and visit the Intiñán museum, where you can participate in dynamic experiments that confirm the location of the equator.
To end the day, we will visit the Guayasamín House Museum in the Bellavista neighborhood, which houses the residence, colonial art collection, and works of Oswaldo Guayasamín, the most important Ecuadorian artist of the 20th century. His work will allow us to understand more about Andean culture, the conquest of the American continent, and the political and cultural processes in Latin America that defined the 20th century. This city is famous for its colorful indigenous market, considered the largest in Latin America. At the market, you will find a wide variety of textiles made by local indigenous communities and other nearby towns. It is common to negotiate prices with vendors, especially if you are buying several items. Traditionally, the market is held on Saturdays, but due to tourist demand, it is now held every day. In the evening, you will stay at a traditional hacienda where you can enjoy a typical dinner.
The province of Imbabura was declared a UNESCO Global Geopark in 2019 due to its geological, natural, and cultural wealth. Today, we will focus on visiting different communities, interacting with their artisans, and discovering one of their natural wonders. After breakfast, we will join a local community guide to visit artisan workshops where sheep and alpaca wool is worked. We will also visit an indigenous family in San Rafael to learn about the craft of working with a natural fiber called Totora. Then, we will head to a musical instrument workshop and enjoy a short walk to visit the Peguche waterfall.
Next, we will travel to the city of Cotacachi for lunch and to explore. Cotacachi was designated a Pueblo Mágico (Magical Town) of Ecuador in 2020 and is renowned for its production of high-quality leather garments. Near this city is Lake Cuicocha, located in a volcanic crater at the foot of the Cotacachi volcano. Here, we will have the opportunity to walk along part of the trail that surrounds the lake and admire the two islets found within it. After this visit, we will return to Quito.

On the way back to the city of Cuenca, we will stop at the striking Church of the Virgin of Rocío, located on the cliffs of the nearby village of Biblián. From here, you can admire the beautiful views of the valley and learn more about the construction of this magnificent church.

On the way, we will stop at El Cajas National Park, a stunning place with around 240 lagoons. Here we will have the opportunity to enjoy a hike surrounded by spectacular landscapes, such as meadows, Polylepis forests (known as paper trees), rocks, streams, and lagoons.
The journey between the two cities, covering some 200 km, takes place along a scenic road that allows us to admire the region's breathtaking landscapes. During the trip, we will stop at the charming Hostería Dos Chorreras, where you can enjoy a delicious and comforting lunch.
Once we arrive in Guayaquil, we will head to the hotel located in the city center, near the Malecón. The Malecón is an ideal place to take a stroll along the Guayas River and enjoy panoramic views of the city. Guayaquil is a vibrant and cosmopolitan city that offers a wide variety of cuisine, especially seafood, with restaurants serving national and international dishes.
After a day full of adventures and incredible experiences, we will head to the hotel to rest and recharge our batteries.

Nestled in the dry mountains of the southern cordillera, 50 miles north of Cuenca and 10,300 feet above sea level, the scenery along the way will be breathtaking, with beautiful Andean landscapes and people dressed in colorful costumes. After the visit, you will have time to have lunch at one of the local restaurants.
Back in the city of Cuenca, we will visit the striking Church of the Virgen del Rocío, located on the cliffs of the nearby village of Biblián. From here, we will enjoy a beautiful view of the valley and learn more about the construction of this church.
At approximately 4:00 p.m., we will return to the hotel to rest and spend the night.

Early in the morning, after breakfast at the hotel, we will head to Cajas National Park to begin this interesting route. We will visit the Llaviuco area, located at 3,100 meters above sea level. This trail is flat and easy to walk through the forest, and will take approximately 45 minutes to 1 hour. We will continue to the highest area of the park, called Tres Cruces, which is located at an altitude of approximately 4,160 meters above sea level. From there, we will enjoy a panoramic view of the park and you will have time to take pictures and receive explanations from our naturalist guide.
After visiting Tres Cruces, we will travel by vehicle to Laguna Toreadora, where we will visit the Interpretation Center. Then, we will begin a hike of approximately 2 hours and 30 minutes, at an altitude ranging from 3,900 to 3,600 meters above sea level. During the hike, we will cross a Polylepis forest called "San Luis" and continue on to Lagunas Unidas, Laguna Totoras, and Laguna Patoquinuas. At the end of the tour, we will return to Laguna Toreadora or, if there are more than 3 people on the tour, we will end at the Patoquinoas parking lot. The return to the city of Cuenca is scheduled for approximately 4:00 p.m.

We will also visit an indigenous family in San Rafael to witness the craftsmanship involved in working with the natural fiber of the Totora plant. Next, we will head to a musical instrument workshop and enjoy a short walk to visit the Peguche waterfall.
Afterwards, we will travel to the city of Cotacachi, where we will have lunch and have the opportunity to explore this city. Cotacachi was designated a Pueblo Mágico (Magical Town) of Ecuador in 2020 and is known for its high-quality leather goods. Once this visit is over, we will return to Quito.

After enjoying a delicious breakfast at the hotel, we will head south of the city of Quito, taking the Pan-American Highway, until we reach the impressive Cotopaxi National Park, which will take approximately two hours. The Cotopaxi volcano, with a height of 5,897 meters, is the second highest peak in Ecuador. It is an active volcano with a conical shape and is surrounded by beautiful Andean páramo vegetation.
Our visit will begin with registration at the southern checkpoint of the National Park, and then we will head to the interpretation center, where we will learn about the fauna, flora, and other interesting aspects of the area, as well as general information about the volcano and the Andes mountain range. After this stop, we will take a walk of approximately one hour around Limpiopungo Lagoon, an ideal place to admire the majesty of the volcano and take beautiful photographs.
Optionally, those who wish to do so may drive to the parking lot of the José Rivas mountain refuge and walk 200 meters to reach the refuge, which is used as a base camp by hikers climbing to the summit of the volcano. The parking lot is located at an altitude of 4,600 meters. During the tour, we will enjoy lunch while observing the imposing Cotopaxi volcano from the only hotel located within the National Park.
After this unforgettable experience, we will head south to rest at our hotel.
Early in the morning, we will begin our journey to the beautiful Quilotoa Lagoon, enjoying a picturesque tour of the western Andes. This lagoon, located at 3,900 meters above sea level, is one of the most impressive and captivating places in Ecuador. It stands out for its natural surroundings that convey tranquility and its green and turquoise waters found in the crater of an extinct volcano.
We will have the opportunity to descend to the shore of the lagoon to admire its waters up close. This is a perfect place to relax and enjoy the tranquility of nature. In addition, there is the option of taking a kayak ride within the lagoon (at an additional cost). It is important to note that this activity and the nature reserve are managed by the indigenous communities of the area.
The climb from the lagoon is excellent exercise, but it can be physically demanding. For those who need assistance, the community offers mule rentals. After visiting the lagoon, we will enjoy a delicious lunch at the community tourism center.
During the round trip to Quilotoa, we will make brief stops to visit small indigenous villages such as Tigua. This community is known for being home to artists who capture scenes of daily life and the impressive Andean topography through painting.
The next two nights we will stay in the city of Ambato, known as the land of writers and poets.
After enjoying breakfast, we will head to Salinas de Guaranda to visit an innovative indigenous community that has become one of the country's leading producers of cheese and chocolate through community micro-enterprises. During the visit, we will be accompanied by a member of this community, who will show us up close the work they do. The name of this town comes from the ancient salt mines that used to supply salt to several villages.
The road connecting Ambato and Riobamba along the western flank of the Chimborazo volcano is considered one of the most picturesque in Ecuador. Herds of wild vicuñas can often be spotted along this route. Before returning to Ambato, we will make a brief visit to the Chimborazo Nature Reserve, which is the closest point to the sun on Earth. This area is remote, authentic, and has a varied climate. Here you will have the opportunity to immerse yourself in the indigenous cultures that inhabit this area and still preserve their customs and traditions.
After this enriching experience, we will return to the hotel.
