After flying over the imposing Andes Mountains, you will arrive in Cusco, the ancient capital of the Inca Empire and the most important city in the Viceroyalty of Peru. Declared a World Heritage Site, Cusco stands out for its enormous historical heritage, earning it the title of "Archaeological Capital of the Americas."

An assistant will meet you upon arrival to assist you with your transfer and check-in at the hotel, where you can rest before setting out to discover the many attractions of this fascinating city.

2

Cuzco - Sacsayhuaman - Korikancha

This tour of Cusco, the ancient capital of the Inca Empire, allows you to admire the architectural fusion of Inca and colonial cultures. You will visit the main attractions such as the Cathedral, the Plaza de Armas, and Koricancha, known as the "Temple of the Sun." The tour also includes visits to Kenko, Puca Pucara, Tambomachay, and the imposing fortress of Sacsayhuaman, a showcase of Inca military engineering.

Cusco is the oldest continuously inhabited city in the Western Hemisphere, so this tour offers an immersion into its rich history.

3

Chincheros, Pisac Market, and Ollantaytambo

The next stop is the Andean village of Chinchero, where you can witness an impressive weaving demonstration by Nilda Callañaupa. Nilda learned this art as a child while tending flocks. Later, she helped preserve the textile techniques of her community.

Then you will travel through the fertile fields of the Sacred Valley to Pisac, a colonial town known for its colorful indigenous market, where local artisans offer alpaca textiles and other products. In the afternoon, you will visit the archaeological complex of Ollantaytambo, an ancient Inca fortress with a temple, terraces, and urban area. It was an important administrative and military center, as evidenced by its walls and towers. Traces of ancient roads and aqueducts are still preserved. The present-day town maintains ancestral practices, which is why it is called the "Living Inca Town."

4

Excursion to Machu Picchu – Expedition Train – Return to Cusco

The tour begins with a combined bus, train, and bus trip to Machu Picchu, Peru's most important attraction. This impressive and colossal citadel was discovered in 1911 by American explorer Hiram Bingham, after remaining hidden for 400 years among the mountains and rainforest.

Machu Picchu, a ceremonial and astronomical observation center, was the private retreat of the Inca Pachacútec. It consists of two large areas, one agricultural and the other urban, featuring temples, plazas, and royal mausoleums built with exquisite perfection.

This tour includes lunch at Café Inkaterra.

5

Day Off

Taking a day off to explore this charming city will be an unforgettable experience. You will find something surprising at every turn in its narrow streets. Traditional Peruvian handicrafts such as blankets, alpaca wool sweaters, ceramics, gold and silver jewelry, and leather goods are excellent shopping options.

Due to the wide variety of products, I recommend considering purchasing any items you like, as it will be difficult to find the same ones in another store. Visitors will enjoy free time to walk around and discover this imperial city on their own.

Upon arrival at the airport, a host will welcome you and assist you with your transfer to the hotel. This place will transport you back in time as soon as you step onto one of its steps. Then we will visit the Convent of San Francisco, a masterpiece of colonial architecture, famous for its catacombs.

We will continue with Modern Lima, exploring the beautiful tourist neighborhoods of San Isidro and Miraflores. From these places, you can enjoy incredible views of the Pacific Ocean and the cliffs of the Costa Verde.

In addition, you can see different types of lava, marine iguanas, birds such as the famous blue-footed booby, sea lions, sea turtles, a variety of fish, and sometimes stingrays and giant manta rays.

Then, we will head to the Arnaldo Tupiza Breeding Center, where you can see two of the five subspecies of giant tortoises that are under the care of park rangers. The eggs are collected at the Breeding Center, where they are incubated. After five years, when they reach the size necessary to survive in their natural environment, they are released. The city of Quito is surrounded by the eastern and western ranges of the Andes. The western range includes the Pichincha massif, which is made up of hills and volcanoes, notably Rucu and Guagua Pichincha. Rucu Pichincha, which means "old" in Quechua, is an inactive volcano whose activity ceased in the Pleistocene. On the other hand, the Guagua Pichincha volcano, which means "young" in Quechua, is located 12 km from the city and has an altitude of 4,776 meters above sea level. This volcano is shaped like a horseshoe open to the west and had its last recorded volcanic activity in 1999 and 2001.

Here, you will have time to have lunch and tour the museum complex. This visit is both educational and fun, as you will be able to stand in both hemispheres and visit the Intiñán Museum, where you can perform a series of dynamic experiments that confirm the location of the equator.
