At the Arnaldo Tupiza Breeding Center, cared for by park rangers, we observe two subspecies of giant tortoises and learn about their protection. We conclude with a visit to Flamingo Lagoon before returning to Santa Cruz Island in the late afternoon.

Santa Fe Island & Hidden Beach Cruise
After breakfast at 7:00 a.m., we headed from the hotel to the pier to take the speedboat to Santa Fe Island, located southeast of Santa Cruz. We sailed to a beautiful bay with crystal clear waters surrounded by cacti and mangroves, where we saw a white sand beach full of sea lions and ravines with giant cacti unique to the island. On the beach, we interacted fearlessly with sea lions and seabirds. We enjoyed spectacular snorkeling with sea lions, turtles, manta rays, and colorful fish. We had lunch on board and sailed to Playa Escondida to relax and enjoy the sun and sea, ideal for swimming and snorkeling. We returned to Santa Cruz in the late afternoon.

At Playa de los Perros, we admired the colony of marine iguanas and enjoyed Las Grietas, a place for swimming and snorkeling. The day ends with a visit to Tortuga Bay Beach, famous for its black turtles, marine iguanas, and sharks. We will visit the impressive Basilica del Voto Nacional Church, known for its neo-Gothic style and Ecuadorian fauna decorations that make it a unique place. Afterwards, we will visit the beautiful Plaza de la Independencia, surrounded by buildings such as the Presidential Palace and the majestic Metropolitan Cathedral. We will continue our tour to the impressive Church of La Compañía and the historic Plaza de San Francisco. Our day will end with a breathtaking view from the Panecillo hill, where the winged Virgin of Quito is located. Transfer Hotel in Puerto Ayora – Airport in Baltra
After breakfast and at the appointed time, passengers will be picked up from their hotel and transferred to the airport to catch their flight back to the mainland, either to Quito or Guayaquil.
