ITINERARY
The tour begins with a trip to the picturesque village of San Bartolomé, famous for guitar making. There are several workshops along the main road. We visit one of the workshops, as well as the central park and its church.
Along the way, you can see women, the famous Cholas Cuencanas, weaving toquilla straw hats while walking or waiting for the bus. We arrive at the canton of Chordeleg, where gold, silver, filigree, wood, ceramics, and handicrafts, among other things, are prominent. We visit the central park and its church, and we have free time for shopping.
Our visit will continue at the traditional food market in the canton of Gualaceo, where you can optionally try the delicious Chancho Hornado. This dish is made with roasted pork accompanied by llapingachos (potatoes) and salad.
Passengers will have free time to have lunch at a local restaurant. In the afternoon, we will visit a workshop where shawls or "macanas" are made, which are traditional garments worn by our "Chola Cuencana." Here, artisans will explain the process of making these famous and unique fabrics. At the end of the visit, we will return to your hotel.
