– The Primada Cathedral of Quito is one of the most important churches in the city. Its history dates back to 1535, when, after the Spanish founded Quito, they proceeded to lay out the streets and assign plots of land to the city's inhabitants, giving the entire southern sector of what would become the Plaza Mayor to the first priest of Quito, Father Juan Rodríguez. Its construction features several styles, including Baroque, Mudejar, Rococo, Neo-Gothic, and Neoclassical. It has an important collection of works of art, such as "La sábana santa" (The Holy Shroud) by Caspicara; "La Muerte de la Virgen" (The Death of the Virgin) by Miguel de Santiago; and "La negación de San Pedro" (The Denial of Saint Peter), among other important colonial paintings.
The church and convent of San Ignacio de Loyola of the Society of Jesus in Quito, also known simply as La Compañía, has a façade carved entirely from volcanic stone and an interior covered with 23-karat gold leaf. It is considered one of the most important examples of Baroque architecture in the Americas and the world. The temple, having been built over 160 years by different architects, features four architectural styles, although Baroque art predominates.
Pre-Columbian Art Museum – La Casa del Alabado – Pre-Columbian Art Museum, brings together some of the most representative pieces of pre-Columbian art from present-day Ecuador, offering interpretations of their artistic and anthropological significance and providing a meaningful experience for every visitor. El Alabado houses around 5,000 archaeological pieces, 500 of which make up the permanent exhibition. The museum is organized thematically rather than chronologically or geographically, allowing visitors to make their own visual and cultural connections between the pieces and reflect on the excellence achieved by their creators in terms of technique, use of materials, and the high aesthetic sense they demonstrated.

The Guayasamín Museum has been listed by UNESCO as a priority cultural project for humanity. It contains the largest archaeological art museum in the country, with more than 8,000 pieces of colonial and contemporary art, and also houses the largest collection of Guayasamín's art, which includes works by highly skilled indigenous artists from the Quito School. There is even a collection of bloody crucifixes (although Guayasamín was agnostic, he incorporated tortured images, similar to those of Christ, into his own work).
