A three-day trip is the perfect getaway to visit Yacuma, where you will discover our hidden lagoon and have the opportunity to spot the famous prehistoric bird, the Hoatzin. In addition, you can walk the medicinal plant trail and learn about the customs and lifestyle of the Kichwa Chontayacu indigenous community, as well as enjoy the typical drink called "chicha" made from cassava.

Arrival at the Lodge

Transfer from Tena Terminal to Santa Rosa (12:00 pm). Transfer from Santa Rosa to Yacuma Ecolodge (20-30 minutes by riverboat). Upon arrival, we will welcome you with a traditional drink known as "Guayusa." Room assignment according to your chosen accommodation. Afterwards, you will enjoy a visit to the Hidden Lagoon of Yacuma Ecolodge. Dinner. To end the day, you can participate in a night walk to observe the flora and fauna of the Amazon rainforest at night.

Activities

After enjoying a delicious breakfast at 8:00 a.m., you will have the option of taking a walk along the Medicinal Plants Trail (2 hours) or exploring the Tutapishku Cave (4 hours). At lunchtime, you will sample dishes prepared with local ingredients. Afterwards, you will have a short 30-minute break. Next, you will visit the Kichwa community of Chontayacu, where you can observe the community's lifestyle, purchase local handicrafts, and see organic crops. In the afternoon, you will enjoy an exciting river tubing activity, followed by a delicious dinner. To cap off your last night at the lodge, you can participate in a farewell celebration around a bonfire.

Last day

After enjoying your visit to the bird sanctuary or the Yacuma Viewpoint (depending on the weather), you can enjoy a hearty breakfast before saying your goodbyes. You will then be transferred from Yacuma Ecolodge to Santa Rosa and finally to the Tena Terminal.
