We invite you to visit this magical place!

The Amazon tour begins at the Arajuno Bridge, with a motorized canoe trip upriver to Itamandi Eco Lodge, where you will receive a warm welcome. Activities include a night walk, a forest hike, and a visit to the Kichwa indigenous community to learn about their way of life and enjoy cultural aspects. Also included is a canoe trip to visit the Parrots' Feeding Ground, where you can observe parrots and parakeets. The tour ends with a return to the Arajuno Bridge by motorized canoe.
The Amazon tour begins at the Arajuno Bridge, where we will board a motorized canoe that will take us upriver for 20 minutes through the rainforest to Itamandi Eco Lodge. During this boat ride, you will have the opportunity to appreciate the magic and beauty of the Amazon rainforest as we zigzag through a river that winds through the jungle, considered the main system of Pacha Mama (Mother Earth). Once we arrive at the Itamandi Eco Lodge dock, our staff will welcome you. Then, you can relax in the lounge with a fresh tropical snack and participate in a brief talk that will include general information about the accommodation and activities, provided by one of our naturalist guides, before enjoying lunch. In the evening, you will have the opportunity to participate in a night walk to get a first glimpse of the Amazon rainforest, an experience that will allow you to hear and capture the night sounds of fishing bats, owls, insects, tarantulas, toads, frogs, and possibly snakes. If the sky is clear, you will have the opportunity to observe a large number of stars.
After breakfast, we took a walk through the primary and secondary forest, an activity that lasted around 2 to 3 hours. Upon our return, we enjoyed a hearty lunch. In the afternoon, we immersed ourselves in an enriching cultural activity: we visited the Kichwa indigenous community to learn about their way of life and their relationship with the jungle. During this encounter, we discover the daily life of the Amazonian people, sharing the famous "chicha," a fermented cassava drink, and participating in the preparation of this drink, as well as tasting traditional dishes. We conclude the visit with a traditional dance performed by the children of the community and have the opportunity to purchase handicrafts made by the indigenous peoples of the area, thus contributing to supporting their daily lives. We ended the day with dinner and rest.
Early in the morning, we take a 15-minute canoe ride upriver to visit the Parrot Saladero, a unique place where these birds gather to obtain the minerals that help them digest the fruits or seeds they have consumed. We will witness hundreds of parrots and parakeets approaching the treetops and descending onto the clay wall to feed on this mineral-rich soil. Binoculars are essential to enjoy this magnificent natural spectacle. Our tour ends at 9:30 a.m. with a 20-minute motorized canoe ride back to the Arajuno bridge for your return to Quito. The visit to the Parrot Lick is clearly dependent on weather conditions.
