The origins of the Hacienda la Compañía de Jesús date back to the time of the Jesuits who came to Ecuador and built it. After the Jesuits were expelled by King Charles I of all Spanish lands where they were, the house was bought in 1767 by the family of the current owners. And nowadays it is the sixth generation. In front of the chapel is the old barn, a building that now houses a spectacular exhibition of the up to 70 varieties of roses produced at the Hacienda de la Compañía de Jesús. The great colorfulness of the roses combined with the rural architectural decoration makes for a truly attractive scene. Ecuador is privileged and where the best quality rose in the world is obtained, since it is located on the equinoctial line, in the middle of the world, with 12 hours of light and a similar climate throughout the year, in addition to its perfect humidity and altitude for its cultivation.
The city of Otavalo has been declared "intercultural capital of Ecuador" for being a city with enormous potential in several aspects, possessing a charming landscape, cultural richness, history and commercial development. This town is mainly known for its colorful indigenous market, the largest in Latin America.
The Peguche waterfall has always been sacred to the Otavalos and surrounding villages. To reach the waterfall you must take a short hike through the forest.
The city of Cotacachi is located on the slopes of the volcano of the same name, in the northern part of the country. Its inhabitants are engaged in the leather industry (processing and marketing).
At the end of the tour, passengers will be transferred to their hotel.
