The cable car ride is an unforgettable experience, it is one of the most important tourist icons of the city, it is also one of the highest cable cars in South America, ascending from 3117 meters above sea level to 3947 meters above sea level. The ride takes about 18 minutes and you can appreciate all the splendor of the city and is an excellent panoramic viewpoint, where on clear days you can admire several volcanoes and mountains.
Pululahua is an extinct but active volcano, being one of only two inhabited craters in the world and the third largest with 12 km in diameter. Every afternoon clouds loaded with humidity arrive from the coast and hide under a white mantle the life that exists in this caldera. It is the only protected area in the country that has the category of "Geobotanical Reserve", declared so for its geological condition and great biological diversity of both fauna and flora.
Lunch is planned in the restaurant located on the edge of the crater of the Pululahua volcano, the only inhabited volcano in the world. El Cráter Restaurant allows 360 degrees of visibility over the landscape, permanently changing according to the time of the day.
- Inti ñan" comes from the Quichua words Inti (sun) and Ñan (road). Therefore, Intiñan means "Path of the sun". The Intiñan Museum will show the history of the ancestral peoples, their dwellings and ways of life, sundials and in an interactive way there will be several experiments at latitude 0.
The Ciudad Mitad del Mundo is a cultural complex that includes the monument to the Middle of the World, which aims to highlight the exact location of the equatorial line, from which the country takes its name, and also highlight the French-Spanish geodesic mission of the eighteenth century that located the approximate site through which the equatorial line passes, the Ethnographic Museum on the indigenous cultures of the country, four pavilions with permanent exhibitions, a Planetarium, a miniature model of colonial Quito, craft stores and restaurants with typical food.
